2010 Meaning Conference Invitation

It has been ten years since our first International Meaning Conference in Vancouver. Over the years, we have made many new friends and spread the message of positive revolution through meaning around the globe.

The last decade has witnessed many traumatic events, from 9/11 to various natural catastrophes. In these turbulent times, Viktor Frankl becomes even more relevant. During my recent lecture tour in China, I was more convinced than ever that the world needs the positive psychology of meaning, hope and compassion.

We look forward to seeing all our Meaning Partners and meeting new friends on the 10th anniversary of Meaning Conference. Our themes may vary from one conference to another, but we remain committed to the mission of research and application of the transformative power of meaning-seeking and meaning-making. This year, we turn our attention to the meaning of work.

Work is more than a means of making a living or creating wealth. It can also be a higher calling that ennobles the soul, endows life with meaning, and enhances humanity.

Much can be done to humanize the workplace, to which we devote most of our adult life. Much need to be done to discover the transcendental and transformative dimensions of honest work.

To all my old and new friends, I extend a warm invitation to attend the 6th Biennial International Meaning Conference. Let’s put our heads together to find out how we can bring out the best in people and make work a major source of significance and fulfillment.
